Kristen, her husband Jason, and son Jefferson, moved to Peregrine in January 2011. Kristen works at UCCS managing grants and contracts for the BioFrontiers program and is the graduate co-advisor for Physics. Kristen graduated with a B.A. in journalism/public relations and an M.A. in political science. She taught both political science and journalism at CSU, Chico and worked for the California State Legislature before moving to Colorado. She currently serves as a community representative on the Woodmen Roberts Accountability Committee and has served as vice president of PTO and on several D20 committees. Kristen has also served in various positions at her church and other non-profits in the Pikes Peak region. In 2020, she completed a three year term as a Colorado representative to the Taxpayer Advocacy Panel, a US Department of the Treasury government oversight committee of the IRS. Kristen spends much of her time with her family, participating in her son’s various activities, traveling, camping, and enjoying live performances.
