We all know how easy it is to find ourselves going over the posted speed limit going downhill on West Woodmen. Many of our fellow residents have expressed concern about the safety of children getting on and off school buses at the bottom of the hill (the intersection of West Woodmen and Edenderry/Kittridge) because of excessive speed. In fact, a family pet was killed there; next time it could be a child!
So let’s really make an effort to slow down in that area. CSPD will be patrolling the area, especially during school bus times, and they are considering speed monitors. In addition, the bus stop at that intersection has been moved 500 feet to the south out of concern for our children and the buses. But moving the bus stop doesn’t totally solve the problem. It’s going to take a concerted effort by all of us to keep our speed down to prevent an unthinkable tragedy from happening.
We would appreciate your comments/feedback on www.peregrinehoa.com regarding this issue.
Respectfully,
Your PMA Safety and Security Team
PS At this time, there are no plans to make any changes to that intersection.
