Peregrine Aware
Before You Go!
– Notify your neighbors so they can be aware of any unusual activity on your property.
– Secure vehicles that will be left at the house. Make sure they are locked, even if in your garage.
– Set your security system and notify your monitoring company.
– Secure your doors and windows, especially on your basement and main floor.
– Turn some lights on while you’re away, especially those near your front door.
– Keep your exterior lights on from dusk to dawn.
– Keep extra keys and garage remotes secured.
– Secure any valuables and/or weapons in your home.
– If possible/necessary, turn off inside home water supply.
– Have your mail held, or plan to have someone pick it up daily.
– If snow is possible, coordinate to have someone shovel your driveway so that it appears that you are home.
This list is certainly not exhaustive, but has been compiled based on resident feedback and information from Peregrine’s Crime Prevention Officer. Do you have certain things you do before leaving town? Please let us know so we can continue to add to this important list!
